Panelist bios: Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, PhD, Ursula Kelly, PhD, and Kathryn Yount, PhD, RYT-200

Trauma-related disorders are now recognized as a significant mental health burden, yet existing conventional therapeutic approaches don’t always provide effective relief from these conditions. We also know that these disorders can bring substantial physical symptoms—they are in fact mind-body-spirit conditions, not purely problems with mental health. The application of yoga therapy for trauma-related disorders has grown significantly over the past few decades in the form of trauma-sensitive and trauma-informed yoga. Accordingly, a growing body of published clinical research trials examines yoga as a therapeutic intervention for these conditions.

Join our panelists for an insightful conversation about important issues in research on yoga for trauma. We’ll consider the multifaceted nature of these conditions, yoga therapy applications, and characteristics of the studies being conducted.
