MPF02: Finding Comfort Amid the Discomfort of Change
MPF02: Finding Comfort Amid the Discomfort of Change
Instructor bio: Kristi Schwickerath, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT
Begin your day with a practice of self-compassion and mindful yoga movement designed to help you find comfort amid the discomfort of unexpected life changes. Sudden, unforeseen changes can leave us feeling overwhelmed and searching for control. As yoga therapists, cultivating resilience within ourselves is essential to effectively guide others in reducing suffering and finding stability.
Using the framework of the kleshas—the root causes of suffering—we’ll explore awareness and balance across all dimensions of being: physical, energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Together, we will move, breathe, and practice guided visualizations to release tension, activate resilience, and develop adaptability. By focusing on what we can control within ourselves, we can learn to meet change with greater acceptance and reduced resistance, fostering inner peace. This practice is not about pushing through discomfort, but rather creating space for it—transforming challenges into opportunities for insight and growth.
