Embodied Liberation: Yoga, Social Justice, and the Spirit of Juneteenth
Join us for a powerful Juneteenth panel exploring the intersections of yoga, liberation, and social justice. As yoga professionals, we have a unique role in fostering spaces of healing, empowerment, and equity. This conversation will center on how the principles of yoga—such as ahimsa (nonviolence), satya (truth), and svadhyaya (self-study)—can guide our work toward collective liberation and address systemic inequities.
Panelists will share personal experiences, best practices, and actionable strategies for integrating social justice principles into yoga therapy, teaching, and community building. We will honor the spirit of Juneteenth by recognizing the ongoing journey toward freedom, healing historical trauma, and embodying true liberation on and off the mat.
Whether you are new to social justice work or deepening your practice, this panel invites you to reflect, connect, and take meaningful steps toward more inclusive and transformative yoga spaces. Through storytelling, wisdom-sharing, and collective reflection, we will honor the resilience of Black communities and commit to nurturing spaces where everybody’s free to breathe, move, heal, and thrive. Together, we will envision how yoga can be a tool for justice, connection, and radical love.
