COVID-19 MEASURES

Attending SYTAR 2022 in Person

Updated January 31, 2022

Protecting the health and safety of all attendees of the Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research is top of mind for IAYT. As the COVID-19 situation continues to shift, we will follow the most current guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as requirements of state and local health departments in Lincolnshire, Illinois. We expect that these guidelines may evolve, and we promise to keep you informed of any changes.

Will proof of vaccination be required to attend?

Based on the available research evidence, we strongly encourage attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. For those with a valid exemption from vaccination, a negative PCR COVID-19 test is highly recommended within 48 hours of arrival at the conference. Given the difficulty of accurately policing vaccination status, at this time IAYT is not requiring that proof of vaccination be presented. Please allow the principle of ahimsa—nonharm to yourself as well as those around you—to be your guide when making decisions about attending SYTAR 2022.

At this time we anticipate that masks will be required in all public indoor areas of the hotel. We will have a supply of masks available for attendees.

Is there a virtual or hybrid option for SYTAR 2022?

Yes! Although we believe that coming together in person provides for the best opportunity to engage with and learn from others, we recognize that this is not always possible or practical. Learn more about the virtual conference package. You may choose to upgrade your registration to the in-person option for a fee of $100 prior to May 10, 2022, or $200 afterward.

We will continue to monitor how the COVID-19 pandemic may affect our ability to hold SYTAR 2022 in person and adapt if needed.

How is the conference venue responding to the pandemic?

The Lincolnshire Marriott Resort has implemented a variety of new protocols and elevated practices in response to COVID-19, including property amenities and services. Read more about what to expect.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

We want attendees to be able to register with confidence. If, after signing up, you no longer feel comfortable attending SYTAR in person, please contact us by May 15, 2022. Your registration fee will be refunded, minus a $75 processing fee. (No refunds will be made after May 15, 2022.) You may also elect to transfer your registration to the virtual package, although we will not be able to issue any refunds in that case. Substitutions (transfer of your registration to another person) may be made up to May 29, 2022, by contacting us.
