Mudra for Difficult Conversations
Difficult conversations are part of life, whether we’re talking with those closest to us or having discussions with strangers around politics or equity and inclusion. We may fear saying the wrong thing, talking ourselves out of saying anything at all to avoid conflict—and leave ourselves feeling stifled and unheard. Or we charge ahead, leading with our emotions and inflaming an already-heated situation. Now more than ever, we need to stay centered and calm while we speak our truth, and yoga therapy provides several tools to help transform thoughts and emotions into meaningful dialogue.
In this talk, Cheryl Fenner Brown will share mudras to help you speak from your compassionate heart and mind, practice deep listening, and activate the courage to speak out when necessary. Understand the roles vishuddha chakra and the vagus nerve play in responding rather than reacting, and learn ways to bring mindfulness into difficult conversations.
