TF02: FOUNDATIONS The Authentic Therapist: Elevating Service Through Spiritual Practice
Presenter bio: Lee Majewski, MA, C-IAYT
Central to the effectiveness of yoga therapy as an integrative approach to health is the personal spiritual development of the therapist, cultivated through dedicated yoga practice. This session will explore how the therapist’s inner journey directly influences the quality of service they provide, offering practical tools and reflections for those guiding others along the yogic path.
We’ll move beyond theory to offer practical approaches, and attendees will leave with actionable insights on the importance of their own spiritual development and personal practice, as well as an understanding of how these qualities profoundly shape their ability to serve others. By grounding yoga therapy in lived experience and spiritual authenticity, we can offer healing that is both profoundly transformational and sustainable.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the connection between a yoga therapist’s personal spiritual practice and the quality of service they offer clients.
- Recognize specific qualities of presence that create safer, sacred spaces for healing, distinguishing between technique-based interventions and healing that emerges from spiritual maturity.
- Identify common challenges that interfere with consistent sadhana (personal practice) and actionable approaches for deepening spiritual development.
